General Body Meetings on Sundays
Various Events with the medical school throughout the year
Being the President of Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students has been such an amazing experience for me. I am able to help shape the future under-represented doctors of tomorrow. I am able to make a difference. This experience helps me become a global citizen scholar because of the plethora of backgrounds of people I work with.. I have individuals that Identify as Indian, Asian, African and so much more. Leading these individuals is a challenge at times, but I am so grateful to be able to motivate others to reach their full potential
Leading a pre-health organization gives me so many experiences in many areas. I am a mentor and a tutor. I have weekends where I volunteer at homeless shelters. I have taken classes and workshops in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and California through our Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) and our Regional medical Education Conference (RMEC), one of which i was on the planning committee It is through this experience I have learned the importance of culturally competent doctors, and has reinforced my love for serving the underserved.
Being a part of this organization has allowed me to always check myself and assure that I am becoming a better person. MAPS has changed my life, and I hope to one day lead an Student National Medical Association Chapter and help other undergraduates find their calling for serving the underserved just as it has helped me find mine.

Track and Field
Date: Began: July 2012-Present
Time: 25-30 hours a week not including traveling during the spring
I am a full-time division one intercollegiate athlete.. Five hours of my day is dedicated to my sport and I have track meets from Thursday to Sunday in the spring. It has taught me how to balance my time for school, track, and maintaining a healthy social life. It has enabled me to understand how important your sleep, diet, and mental health is to my performance on and off the track. Before ,I never knew how much track was going to mean to me or how much it was going to shaped my life, but I meet so many young girls who have never seen someone excel on the track and in STEM related fields. I am inspiring people through running and endless perseverance in the classroom. Track and Field has taught me how to be a self learner. It has taught me that my future is literally in my hands and has enabled me to want to seize every moment and opportunity that presents itself furiously. Being a now former athlete is has made me non complacent. There are people that look up to me and I carry that on my back on and off the track.
